Job Description

Objective of the Role:

The Accountant is responsible for providing financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data, and preparing reports.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Invoicing
    • Check the invoices with delivery notes and purchasing orders of the customer
    • Contact customers to get relevant information for invoicing, when required
    • Produce acknowledged invoice copies upon request from our sales team and customers regularly
    • Produce outstanding details upon request from sales team and customers
  • Payroll
    • Check the accuracy of the Overtime schedule
    • Check other documents relevant to salary, such as attendance sheets and late hour deductions
    • Update monthly salary particulars in Accsoft payroll system
    • Get the monthly Salary sheet and Salary Transfer Letter
    • Fill the EPF and EFT returns for each month
    • File salary sheets, EPF, and ETF
  • Purchasing
    • Arrange the payment when assigned
  • SVAT
    • Prepare form four and five manually and enter them into the system
    • Follow up with customers to get approval in the system
    • Prepare required schedule once all customers have given approval in the system (Form 5 and Form 07)
    • Visit Inland Revenue to resolve matters in SVAT, whenever arise
    • Compile SVAT vouchers monthly-wise
    • Prepare all required schedules for E-filing of VAT/SSCL Return
    • Fill the VAT/SSCL return in the RAMIS system and submit for approval
    • Compile the VAT/SSCL Return with relevant schedules
  • PAYE
    • Furnish the return by the due date given by the IRD
  • Maintain Fixed Assets Register
    • Maintain comprehensive FA Register
    • Maintain code system for FA
  • Bank
    • Enter bank transactions and perform reconciliation
    • Maintain a relationship with the bank
  • Reporting – Assist in group reporting
  • Reporting – Adhoc Basis
    • Prepare any kind of report for management upon request
  • External Audit and Income Tax Computation
    • Liaise with external auditors and produce all schedules and information relating to the audit
    • Produce relevant documents for income tax computation
    • Contact them from time to time to get things done

Educational Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience / Skills / Personal Attributes:

  • Experience in the financial sector with previous possible roles
  • Proficient user of finance software
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles
  • Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics / MBA
  • Professional qualification such as CFA/CA or similar will be considered a plus
  • Good oral and written communication skills
