Job Description

Job Role:

Coordinate with shipping lines, banks, insurance companies, and suppliers to ensure smooth inflow of materials.
Ensure optimal stock position by managing shipments according to sales volume.
Liaise with suppliers and clearing agents to facilitate a seamless import clearance process.
Coordinate with customs, CDA, IR, Ministry of Industries, and other institutions for TIEP clearance.
Identify and implement cost-effective logistics solutions.
Implement best standards in supply chain activities.
Physically reconcile imported materials with respective invoices and supplier documents.
Obtain necessary approvals for imports from government authorities.
Coordinate with store accounts and other internal stakeholders for efficient material handling.
Handle issues related to insurance, quality, shortages, and other import-related situations.
Maintain proper records and file documents.

Requirements:

Degree or equivalent professional qualification in Supply Chain Management.
Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a similar capacity.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages and ERP systems.
Excellent communication skills in English are essential, and conversational abilities in Sinhala/Tamil are an added advantage.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while being a team player.
Analytical skills with basic knowledge of costing and budgeting.
