Prospectus is delighted to be working with our client as a longlisting partner in their search for a Communications and Marketing Manager, playing a pivotal role in the fund development, donor care, and the general communications and engagement. This is a 4-day a week (30 hours per week), permanent position based in Devon (Hybrid).

The organisation is Devon’s largest independent grant funder for charities and community organisations working to effect change in people’s lives and in their wider community. The organisation aims inspire and support philanthropic giving from individual donors and organisations and translate this into grants supporting community-led work to make Devon a fairer and greener county. The organisation is part of a wider national network of community foundations, created, and led by the communities they exist to benefit.

Reporting to the Head of Development and Philanthropy, the Communications and Marketing Manager will lead efforts to significantly increase the foundations profile. You will create an annual communications and marketing plan, creating and managing all digital communications including website, social media, blogs and e-newsletters. You will collect and share case studies from organisations our client has funded, in written, graphical and video form, while building and maintaining PR and press relationships, pitching stories to local media. You will produce bespoke branded material for donor stewardship, such as fund statement and organise a programme of donor and other stakeholder engagement events.

To be successful, you will experience of developing multi-aspect communications and/or marketing plans, including targeted campaigns with an understanding of voluntary, community and social enterprise sector. You will strong interpersonal skills, able to build and maintain effective relationships within PR/Press and other internal and external stakeholders. You will have an ability to present data and ideas in an accessible and engaging way, with excellent editing and proofreading skills. The successful candidate will have experience or willingness to learn digital systems, including WordPress, Buffer etc, and have advanced MS Word skills. Experience of fundraising and/or communication experience within a charity setting is desirable, but not a necessity.
