The Role: Data Engineer

Oceans is seeking highly ambitious candidates in Sri Lanka to become Data Engineers.

Responsibilities:

• Create, expand, and optimize data pipeline architecture
• Optimize data flows and collections
• Assemble large complex datasets and build data models
• Build infrastructure required for optimal data extraction, transformation, and loading
• Support analytics and scientist team on initiatives
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, including automating manual processes
• Ensure that the infrastructure is designed for greater scalability

Requirements:

• Language: Professional fluency in English, with excellent communication skills (reading, writing, speaking)
• Experience:
• At least 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer
• Essential Skills:
• Proficient with Python, Java, or R
• Familiar with data integration processes
• In-depth understanding of SQL and noSQL databases as well as cloud-based warehousing
• In-depth understanding of data pipeline tools like Airflow
• Hands-on experience with big data processing frameworks such as Hadoop
• Experience with FiveTran
• Education: Undergraduate degree preferably in Computer Sciences, Statistics, Business Intelligence & Analytics; related work experience accepted
