Job Description

Join Our Team as a Director/Software Architect of ICTA!

Are you a visionary leader with a passion for technology and a knack for designing innovative software solutions? We’re seeking a talented Director/Software Architect of ICTA to join our dynamic team.

As a Director/Software Architect of ICTA, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technological landscape of our organization. You will oversee our information and communication technology architecture, ensuring it aligns with our business objectives and drives growth. Your expertise will drive the development of cutting-edge software solutions, enabling us to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital world.

Salary Range: 300,00LKR to 750,00LKR (Please note that the salary scale provided is subject to negotiation and may vary based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience)


  • Own and manage the architecture for a SaaS, eServices, and line-of-business solutions portfolio.
  • Design and develop scalable software solutions with high availability for millions of users.
  • Exhibit leadership traits by influencing situations, driving designs, ideas, and roadmaps beyond assigned responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to develop, launch, and support solutions addressing national-level problems.
  • Ensure on-time, on-scope, and on-cost delivery of software modules and applications for projects.
  • Responsible for application development, support, and coordination with other stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for adopting new technologies in a matrix environment.
  • Design software testing strategies and conduct reviews to ensure quality and security.
  • Develop and maintain user-friendly frontends supporting backend systems.
  • Create and maintain DevOps processes and application infrastructure on government cloud infrastructure.
  • Execute ICTA’s software platforms strategy to meet national technology requirements.
  • Provide regular progress reports to stakeholders.
  • Ensure coherence among various systems built on the platforms.
  • Serve on technology-related committees or teams, offering guidance to ICTA and other government organizations.
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd-level support for live systems as needed.


  • Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering, IT, or a related field, with a recognized university/institution and Master’s qualifications.
  • Minimum 11 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, and Java Enterprise Technologies.
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and experience with Spring Boot.
  • Experience building solutions on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD.
  • Experience with containerization using Docker, and knowledge of container orchestration with Kubernetes (K8s) is advantageous.
  • Automation experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and Configuration-as-Code.
  • Additional experience with front-end technologies like React, Vue.js, Angular, and backend technologies like Node.js is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Python and Golang is advantageous.
  • Understanding of Agile software development processes.
