Job Description: General Manager of Human Resources

Position Overview: As the General Manager of Human Resources for our dynamic export company, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing HR strategies, policies, and practices to support the company’s growth, employee engagement, and overall success. You will lead a team of HR professionals and collaborate closely with senior management to ensure that our organization maintains a motivated, skilled, and diverse workforce.

Location: Kaduwela, SrI Lanka

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic HR Leadership:

  • Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with the company’s export-focused business objectives.
  • Provide guidance and insights to senior management on HR matters, contributing to overall business decisions.
  • Proactively identify HR trends, industry best practices, and potential areas for improvement.

Talent Acquisition and Recruitment:

  • Oversee the recruitment process, from job profiling to candidate selection, ensuring the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to define staffing needs and create effective recruitment strategies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with recruitment agencies, universities, and other relevant sources to build a pipeline of qualified candidates.

Employee Development and Training:

  • Design and implement training and development programs that enhance employees’ skills and contribute to their professional growth.
  • Work with department heads to identify skill gaps and develop targeted training initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing across the organization.

Performance Management:

  • Lead the performance management process, including goal setting, performance reviews, and career development plans.
  • Ensure effective communication between managers and employees to drive performance and facilitate growth.

Employee Relations and Engagement:

  • Champion a positive work environment that promotes employee engagement, satisfaction, and well-being.
  • Address employee concerns, grievances, and conflicts, promoting open communication and conflict resolution.
  • Organize and support employee engagement initiatives, team-building activities, and recognition programs.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Oversee the design and administration of competitive compensation and benefits programs.
  • Analyze market data to ensure our compensation packages remain attractive and aligned with industry standards.

HR Policies and Compliance:

  • Develop, review, and update HR policies, procedures, and guidelines in compliance with local labor laws and regulations.
  • Ensure ethical and legal HR practices are maintained throughout the organization.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Collect, analyze, and present HR data and metrics to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to address HR challenges and drive improvements.

  

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, and a master’s degree in a related field.
  • Past 5 to 7 years’ experience in similar capacity.
  • Having other professional qualifications related to human resources will be added advantage.
  • Extensive experience in HR leadership roles, preferably in export-oriented companies.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and developing HR teams.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and MS Office applications.
  • Should be close to Kaduwela area.
