Are you a: researcher, journalist, social media influencer, or communications expert? We have an opportunity for you to be part of something groundbreaking!

ECHELON MEDIA, a learning digital and print news publisher, is planning the launch of an exciting and innovative Sinhala digital and social news brand covering issues at the intersection of freedom, the economy, free markets, and public policy.

We have openings for storytellers and producers familiar with digital formats, and social platforms, and a good understanding of how an economy works and what it takes to create an open and free society. The ideal candidates we seek will have a curious mind, a track record of achievement in research or in journalism, and an ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams. Most of our content will be video, so experience with the format and a deep understanding of social platforms is advantageous. 

This is a demanding position and we expect to test candidates on the following 

• Understanding of economics, free markets, and public policy issues
• Ability to write and some journalism skills
• Good language skills in Sinhala and English 
• Digital fluency

• Strong research and/or investigative journalism skills: experience finding trustworthy primary and secondary sources
• Experience writing high-quality Sinhala content 
• Confident and articulate 
• Ability to interview and present content on video
