Job Description

L1 SERVICE DESK ENGINEER

We are seeking a dedicated and highly motivated L1 Service Desk Engineer to join our team. In this dynamic role, you’ll be part of our IT Administration, offering first-level support to our multinational team and clients.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Provide IT Administration and first-level support.
  • Monitor infrastructure, backup alerts, and escalate to relevant teams when necessary.
  • Address service requests from end-users and manage escalations as needed.
  • Prepare IT technical documentation and conduct basic reporting.
  • Coordinate IT asset management involving vendors, couriers, and end-users.
  • Oversee the on-boarding and off-boarding processes.
  • Offer application support and carry out basic laptop and network hardware troubleshooting.
  • Undertake basic Linux server administration and troubleshooting.
  • Manage Microsoft O365, Intune MDM, and Active Directory.
  • Exhibit proficiency in MS Word, MS-Excel; familiarity with Visio is an added advantage.
  • Operate within a 24×7 roster-based IT setting.
  • Engage with foreign clients, bringing to bear previous experience in this area.
  • Resolve problems through discussions with users – this encompasses problem recognition, logs examination, research, resolution, and follow-up.
  • Maintain the highest ethical standards and strictly adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Solve technical issues both critically and creatively.
  • Attend the office as and when necessary.
  • Understand the key principles of ISO 27001/27701 compliance.
  • Possess the capability to develop, maintain, and review ISO 27001-related documentation.
  • Familiarity with preparing reports related to ISO 27001/27701 audits, non-compliance, and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure the continued compliance and improvement of ISO 27001/27701 standards.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or Networking will be an added advantage.
  • Relevant Microsoft or other vendor certifications.
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving and top-tier documentation abilities.
  • Strong communication skills in both verbal and written forms, combined with the ability to work efficiently with a multinational team.
  • Handle pressure gracefully, work autonomously, and be driven by customer service.
  • Emotional intelligence, self-motivation, and a steadfast commitment to meeting delivery timelines.
  • Eagerness to learn, coupled with the capability to grasp new technologies swiftly.
