Job Description

The Role Responsibilities

We are looking for a highly motivated individual for the role of Manager Digital to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the digital product development/ management process, as well as the ability to work with cross-functional teams. In this role, you will be responsible for the entire product lifecycle for Internet Banking, ATM/ CDMs and other alternative channels at Standard Chartered. You will work closely with developers, operations, risk, frontline and other stakeholders to ensure that our products meet the needs of our users and achieve our business goals.


  • To drive adoption levels of all alternative channels managed by Digital – I Banking/ ATM/CDM/ E Statement
  • Work on projects implemented by group or in country to drive cost save, obsolesces, client experience or regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with multiple stakeholder locally and globally to ensure collaboration to drive digital agenda of retail banking stakeholders
  • Work collaboratively to resolve issues across the channels that maximize performance for Retail overall through client management.
  • Analyse customer behaviour to understand patterns and trends to provide value added services to clients, while ensuring staff awareness is created to drive digital adoption
  • Support Client Relationships, Retail Banking Products and Client Acquisition team in driving the digital agenda.
  • Manage website content with updates from products teams to drive traffic to website.
  • Create digital marketing plans collaboratively to ensure leads are generated via


  • Create sustainable leads for frontline to convert to clients

Risk Management

  • Ensure effectiveness of controls for compliance monitoring and risk management.
  • Report on all CST requirements in country
  • Ensure necessary approvals are obtained prior to launch of Proximity Channel services
  • Ensure All AML/KYC/CDD policies and procedures per group and local regulator are adhered to
  • Where regulatory reporting requirements arise, to support data gathering.


  • Ensure all regulatory requirements are reviewed. Any gaps identified to be reported at relevant stakeholder forums with an update/ mitigation in place. Any funding requirements needs to flow into the ASA Reg forum with relevant approvals

Regulatory & Business Conduct

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.   • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Key stakeholders

  • COO – For all operational matters related to back office functions
  • Head Legal & Head CFCC – For all approvals prior to customer communication and launch
  • Branding & Marketing – For all approvals prior to customer communication and launch
  • CTO – for all matters concerning the management of hardware and software support
  • Branch Operations – for ATM related / operational activities.
  • Head Retail Banking Products – to support CASA/Card channel utilization
  • Head PRB & PSB segments – to support business segments on channel utilisation
  • Product Mangers – to support all group led products

Other Responsibilities

  • Embed Here for good and Group’s brand and values in Digital Sri Lanka; Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures; Multiple functions (double hats) in supporting Ops with DS Lite Functions, Work Flow enhancements

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Degree level education
  • At least 2 years of work experience in product management/ project management
  • Sound knowledge of digital services offered in Sri Lanka
  • Clear understanding about operational processes of front and back office in Digital Channel services
  • Good Marketing and Business development skills
  • Should be result oriented, creative and entrepreneurial learning
  • Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good knowledge and clear understanding of the Group policy, standards, local regulations and legislation of the prevention of money laundering
