Job Description

AREA OF ASSIGNMENT: Colombo, Sri Lanka

TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT: Fixed-Term/Contractual

This intermediate specialist provides high-quality data collection at the national office level for all child-focused data. He or she will provide monitoring and evaluation for program data to conduct analysis, identify trends, formulate reports, and make recommendations based on findings. The specialist has general knowledge in data collection, measurement, and analysis of program activities, outputs, and outcomes. At this career level, the incumbent supports local program design and works independently on moderately complex issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Acts as an advocate to raise awareness of the needs of children. Understands the mandate to protect children and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks, and activities.
  • Supports overall holistic child development and provides ongoing subject matter expertise in collecting and using high-quality data to measure program inputs, outputs, and outcomes. Provides coaching and knowledge within monitoring and evaluation.
  • Utilizes multiple tools and instruments to conduct an empirical assessment and generate monitoring and evaluation reports. Analyzes baseline/needs assessment data to inform program design.
  • Evaluates partner compliance and adherence to program quality standards, procedures, and policies, especially in data collection of child-focused data.
  • Monitors program performance through data dashboards, conducts analysis, and makes recommendations to the National Office Leadership Team.
  • Responsible for budgeting, planning, and training related to data collection and monitoring and evaluation activities in the National Office.
  • Provides expertise to other professionals and support staff in the monitoring and evaluation discipline.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.

Work Experience:

  • Five to seven years of relevant experience in this or a related field.

Travel Requirements:

May be required to travel up to 25% of the normal schedule.
