Job Description

Role Summary:

The Procurement Manager – CAPEX, Maintenance Repair and Operational spares (MRO), Consumables and Projects.

The Procurement Manager will be responsible for the strategic sourcing and procurement of Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) items, Maintenance Repair and Operational (MRO) spares, consumables, and special projects. They will lead procurement efforts to support business operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness, timely deliveries, and supplier quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Procurement: Develop procurement strategies for CAPEX, MRO, consumables, and projects, aligned with company objectives.
  2. CAPEX Procurement: Lead the sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of capital equipment and machinery, ensuring alignment with technical and operational requirements.
  3. MRO Sourcing: Ensure uninterrupted supply of maintenance, repair, and operational spares to support daily operations and minimize downtime.
  4. Consumables Procurement: Manage the acquisition of daily-use consumables ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely replenishments.
  5. Project-based Sourcing: Collaborate with project teams for specialized procurement requirements, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
  6. Supplier Management: Build and nurture relationships with key suppliers and manufacturers. Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, cost, and delivery metrics.
  7. Negotiation: Lead contract negotiations with suppliers, achieving favorable terms and cost structures.
  8. Risk Management: Identify potential risks related to supply chain disruptions and devise mitigation strategies.
  9. Inventory Management: Collaborate with inventory and warehouse teams to ensure optimal stock levels and efficient storage practices.
  10. Budgeting & Cost Control: Monitor spend, track savings, and ensure alignment with departmental budgets.
  11. Market Research: Stay informed on market trends, new technologies, and innovations in the CAPEX, MRO, and consumables space.
  12. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with departments like maintenance, operations, finance, and projects to ensure seamless procurement processes.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, with specific expertise in CAPEX, MRO, consumables, and projects.
  • Strong technical understanding of machinery, equipment, and operational spares.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
  • Solid understanding of contract negotiation, terms, and conditions.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and multitask.
