This unique programme will provide you challenging and purposeful opportunities and Business/functional exposures that accelerate your readiness to take on business leadership roles.

We develop future Unilever leaders!

The Unilever Future Leaders Programme (UFLP) is designed to prepare Unilever’s Future Leaders (UFL) by giving them challenging jobs that prepare them for business leadership roles. The Programme encompasses rotations within and across functions in an accelerated learning environment. This includes international stints, extended leadership contact, formal training and professional development. Here’s your chance to kickstart your journey at Unilever!

Key Features Of UFLP

  • A 2-year accelerated program to build Unilever’s future leaders through job rotations, early international exposure and structured ongoing training
  • Attract top-tier graduates who aspire to succeed in world-class careers.
  • Select graduates who have the knowledge, skills, ability and attitude to become Unilever’s future leaders, achieving and performing in a managerial role within two years.
  • Duration: 2 year program
  • Location: Sri Lanka
  • Eligibility: Students with minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional qualification. Work experience in related field (no more than 2 years) that you are applying to or Master’s qualification will be an added advantage.

The program is designed to help you get to know as many areas within Marketing and Sales as possible and to prepare yourself for future business challenges through hands-on learning alongside world-class experts. You’ll develop your individual leadership skills by working on live projects which offer you all the experience you need to become ready for your first management role. Over the 2 years, you’ll cover up to 3 – 5 placements that might include international assignments (based on your performance and available opportunities) as well.

Real tasks from the first day

In the Marketing & Sales program, you’ll undertake placements in both Marketing and Customer Development (Sales) departments. In Marketing, you’ll be working on well-renowned brands (like Dove, Horlicks, Lifebuoy) or even on our local jewels (like Sunlight, VIVA). You’ll deep dive into some of our brands and you’ll use this level of insight to help develop strategies on an international level and then translate these strategies into local market contexts. Working with both global and local teams, you can plan and execute marketing campaigns and gain experience in brand building.

In Customer Development, you’ll build partnerships with a wide range of our customers, which can include: supermarkets, convenience stores, drug stores, discounters or even online retailers. This will help us reach our target markets, which could mean working together to maximize a new product launch, recommending the right range of products, or negotiating an annual business plan. You can even gain experience in NRM (Net Revenue Management), Field Sales, and Customer Marketing.

As part of your personalized rotation plan, you can gain experience besides your current position, in different workstreams: extra/flexible projects where you can get to know other business areas and create extra added value.
